The given charts provide the percentage wise information on population belonging to different age groups in India and France in 1984.
Overall, the life expectancy of French are higher than Indians as we can see from the charts. France has an almost equal proportion of people belonging to all ages whereas India witnesses the decreasing trend with increase in age.
In France, the number of males and females are identical in all ages and about 4 % of men and women are around age 30-35 forming the largest group. An average of 1% of males are aged greater than 85 which is the least among all male groups. Though only 1.5% of females has passed the age 85, they are 0.5% more than the number of men who lived for the same number of years.
Contrasting to France, India has an enormous inequality in the distribution of age. Nearly 14% of population are aged 0-5 marking the highest and the count descends as age ascends. Only 2% of the entire population are 65-70 years old, the least among their counterparts and the apex age Indians attain is a little greater than 70.
