The diagram below shows the manufacturing process of sugar from sugarcane. Summarise the follwowing by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant

The given diagram illustrates the process of producing sugar from sugar canes. The manufacturing process of sugar consists of 7 steps right from cultivating sugar canes to obtaining end product which is crystallised sugar.

The first and the foremost stage is the growing of sugar canes in fields. The growth of sugar canes can take an average of about 12 - 18 months before they mature. After 18 months, they are to be harvested. Reaping can be done either by harvesting machine or by manual labour. Once they are reaped, they should undergo crushing, a process in which sugar canes are turned to juice.

Then, the sugarcane juice will be purified using limestone filter. The purified juice will then be heated in an evaporator. In this process, the juice turns into syrup. Following the heating process, the syrup will be put under centrifuge in which sugar crystals and syrup will get separated. Later, in the final process, the separated sugar crystals will be dried and cooled giving the usable sugar.
