The following charts illustrates what is the main purpose of students to study in terms of various age groups, with depicting the percentage of students who gain support from their employers regarding time off and fees.
As can be clearly observed from the first chart, two main reasons of career and interest are surveyed. The same proportion of students of 40-49 age group follow their study due to either career or interest by 40%. Unlike age groups which is under 39, over 49 students are pursuing their study mainly for interest, around 70%, in comparison with 30% of career. For under 26 students, the main reason is career by 80% and interest includes 20%. Followed by 26-29 students with 70% of career and 30% of interest. Students who are between 30 to 39 are more inclined to career with near 60% rather than for interest with above 20%.
Turning to employer support, the most support is allocated to under 26 by more than 60%. Age groups of 26-29 with 50% and over 49 with 40% are placed next positions. Employers support approximately the equal percentage of both 30-39 and 40-49 students by around 40%.
Overall, it is clear from the charts that, whereas under 26 aged students’ main purpose is career, they receive the maximum support from their employers with 60%. On the other hand, over 49 students follow their study mostly because of their interest, far more than other groups, while 30-39 aged students receive the least support of employers.
