The charts below show that what UK graduate and postgraduates students who did not go into full-time work did after leaving college in 2008.

The given charts illustrates the different types of work (except for full-time job) that graduate and postgraduate students in the UK did after graduation in 2008.

Overall, further study was the student’s first choice after they left school, while the least number of students chose voluntary work. Additionally, part-time job stood at the second rank in both two figures.

In 2008, almost 100% graduate students continued to learn after leaving college, followed by part-time work that 17735 students chose it. In the year, more than a half the graduate students could not find a job and became unemployed. Not be chosen by many students, the number of students did voluntary work was 3500 students.

At the same time, regarding postgraduate student, a similar pattern compared to above group of students could be seen in further study, while roughly 100% students did it after school time. About one in six students said that they had a part-time job in 2008. The figure for unemployment and voluntary work were 1625 students and 345 students respectively.
