The graph below illustrates the way in which electricity is produced by utilizing geothermal energy.

Overall, there are five stages in the process, beginning with pumping down cold water into the earth and ending with conducting produced electricity to the power network.

Initially, cold water stored in a container is pumped down through the injection well into an area where 4.5km under the ground called the Geothermal zone which consists of numerous hot rocks. The water temperature rises by passing through the hot rocks. Then the resulted Hot water is pumped up across the production well to a Condenser. The steam from the Hot water in the condenser provides the power needed for running the turbine. Subsequently, a generator which is powered by this turbine start producing electricity. Finally, the current is distributed through a power grid.
