The diagram illustrates the process in which electricity is made in a hydroelectric power station.

it can be clearly seen from the diagram that the process can be divided into 3 main stages and some equipment and constructions are need such as the dam, the power station, two reservoir, the reversible turbines, power lines and national gird.

According to the diagram, a dam is built in order to create a high-level reservoir because water from the river can be reserved here. In addition, during the day, the dam is opened so that water will flow to the power station while a generator is controlled by the reversible turbines transforms it into electricity then the power lines transfer to national gird. Meanwhile, the other amount of water flow into the low-level reservoir.

By contrast, at night, the reversible turbines pump water from low-level reservoir back to the high-level reservoir whereas the dam is closed. As a result, the process will keep working on the next day.
