Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
Write at least 150 words.

The bar graph depicts information on the number of people who owned a telephone among nine Southeast Asian countries and is measured in thousands. The study covers a period of five years with emphasis on the year 2000, 2002 and 2004.

Overall, It can be seen that Singapore held the highest number owners for landline phones while the least came from Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam. It is also clear that at the end of the study period, no more people were recorded to own a telephone in Indonesia, Lao PDR and Thailand.

In detail, Singapore held the most number of landline phone owners in 2000 to 2002 with over 450 thousand which was almost twice as that of Brunei Darussalam with 250 thousand. Philippines and Thailand followed with about 80 thousand while Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam shared no more than 50 thousand for four years.

Within the next two years, both Singapore and Brunei Darussalam marginally declined but still had more than 400 thousand and 200 thousand landline phone owners, respectively. Vietnam and Philippines had partly similar rates with about 50 thousand while Myanmar had no more than 10 thousand. Thailand which had over 50 thousand of telephone owners from 2000 – 2002 had zero along with Indonesia and Lao PDR.
