The graph below compares the changes in the birth rates of China and the USA between 1920 and 2000.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graph compares two distinctive countries namely China and America in terms of the percentage of babies born from 1920 to 2000.
Overall, both countries registered a significant upward trend in the birth rates during the surveyed period. Another striking feature is that the figure for fertility in the USA was slightly higher than that in China.
Standing at over one-tenth in 1920, the percentage of the American birth fluctuated and then hit its lowest point at under 5% after 25 years. Additionally, a remarkable fluctuation was undergone in the fertility rate in China during the period from 1920 to 1940. However, five years later the Chinese proportion of birth remained unchanged at 5%.
From 1945 to 1950, the Chinese and American birth rates grew tremendously by a fifth and 15%, respectively. Furthermore, at about 2%, the percentage of fertility in China was nearly three times lower than that in the USA at the end of the time frame.
