The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line chart demonstrates the data published in 2008 regarding to the United States’ energy usage from 1980, and its prediction until 2030. Overall, there were considerable increases in the amount of petrol & oil, coal and natural gas; while a relatively stable trend could be observed in the figure for nuclear, solar/wind and hydropower.

In 1980, the majority of favorable fuel consumed was petrol & oil at 35 quadrillion units, followed by coal and natural gas at 20 quadrillions and 16 quadrillions, respectively, lastly by the rest at merely 3 quadrillions. After then, the demand for petrol and oil fluctuated over the next 25 years and was estimated to reach over 45 quadrillions by 2030.

Moving to coal and natural gas, the figures for both of them climbed modestly to 22 quadrillion units in 2008 and were expected to grow to 25 by 2015. Then, the amount of coal is likely to rocket to 30 quadrillions by 2030; in contrast, the consumption of natural gas will remain unchanged. It is also interesting to note that the uses of nuclear, solar/wind and hydropower were stable and were predicted to keep their patterns, staying at approximately 5 quadrillions by 2030.
