The line graph compares the figures of the energy consumption by several different kinds of fuel from 1980 to 2008 in a America,and it also predicts the number from 2009 to 2030.

Overall, from 1980 to 2008,the number of petrol and oil's consumption is leading the first position(during 35 quadrillion units and 40) although it decreases in the year of 1985 and 1995. By contrast, people in the USA use the new kinds of resources least,which are nuclear,solar or wind energy and hydropower,and the number of those are all under 10 quadrillion unions ethier in the past or now.

In 1980, the consumption of coal(about 16 units) is less than natural gas (20 units),but in the year of 1991, the data of coal consumption outrages the other.And then the later went up.However ,in the year of 2008,the amount of coal using went beyond the gas consumption again.It is predicted that in the following over 20 years, the trend will not change.The data of coal will be more than 30 units in 2030.
In 1984, the data of those three new kinds energy'consumption are at the same point,which are the least at the same time.And in the future, the figure of those will still at the end of the graph.
