The given line graph represents the expenditure on books in four different countries (Germany, France, Italy and Australia ) from 1995 to 2005. The units are measured in US dollars in millions.
Overall, German spent much more money on books throughout the given period while the least amount of money was spent by australia at the beginning and Italy at the ending.
With regard to germany, the expenditure on books increased from 80 million dollars in 1995 to 90 millions in 1999 before dipping to well under 90 in 2003 which again claimed up to 95 millions in 2005. Similarly, the money spent by Italy first rose slightly to 55 millions in 1997 before declined to 50 in 1998 and then, it grew gradually to just over 60 millions in 2005.
In contrast, the total amount of money spent by france was around 50 million in 1995 which rose to about 75 at the end of year. Finally, australia spent 30 million us dollars on books in 1995 which went to 40 millions in 1999 and remained leveled off until 2001 then again rose significantly to over 70 million in 2005.
