the graph below shows average carbon dioxide (co2) emission per person in the united kingdom, sweden, italy and portugal between 1967 and 2007.
The given graph illustrates the amount of Co2 which is produced per individual in four different European countries from 1967 to 2007. As it can be seen, the trend of released carbon dioxide is upward in Italy and Portugal, while in two other collaborators, in the presented survey, the United Kingdom and Sweden, is downward.
In the United Kingdom, the amount of CO2 has increased from about 11 tonnes in 1967 to 9 tonnes in 2007. The CO2 emission in Sweden showed a different pattern, which has risen to slightly more than 10 in the first decade of the survey period, but in next decade has reduced sharply and reached to 7 tonnes in 1987. Then, the figure for CO2 has declined steeply until 2007 when it reached less than 6 tonnes.
On the other hand, in Italy, the CO2 emission increased sharply to more than 6 tonnes in 1977, then boosted gradually till 1977 by around 8 tonnes and after that was stable until 2007.Portugal which has the lowest amount of CO2 emission experienced an upward trend. In fact, it increased from 1.5 tonnes in 1967 to about 5 tonnes in 1997 and then remained stable.
In summary, despite the fact that the amount of CO2 emission in the United Kingdom and Sweden is decreased during the mentioned period but it still is more than Italy and Portugal. Also, it is noteworthy that in 2007 the amount of CO2 emission (after a rapid reduction) is equal to the figure of Portugal (after a low increase)
