The given line graph illustrates the changes in four different types of food in a European from 1979 to 2004.

It is clear that the consumption of fish was by far lowest during the research period. While the amount of beef, lamb and fish decreased, there was a sharp increase in the figure of chicken.

It can be seen from graph that in 1979, the amount of chicken consumed was the highest, at around 220 grams per person per week. The figures of chicken and lamb was lower, at just under 150 grams and exactly 150 grams respectively. However, the consumption of fish was the lowest, at about just over 50 grams.

It is also worth noting that in the period from 1979 to 2004, European country witnessed a dramatic rise in the amount of chicken eaten, increasing to 250 grams in 2004. By contrast, there was a slight decrease in the amount of fish and lamb, falling to 55 grams and 50 grams in 2004 respectively. Although, the consumption of beef increased and reached a peak in 1983 with just under 250 grams, this declined to just over 100 grams in 2004.
