The graph shows how money was spent on different forms of entertainment over a five year period. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. You should write at least 150 words.
The bar chart depicts expenditure on various entertainment forms in three areas with data collected between 1995 and 2000.
In general, in the given period, the money spent on entertainment witnessed an upward trend in all three regions and the United States spent the largest sum of money on this field. Regarding entertainment types, publishing and television were shown to be the most favorite.
As presented in the chart, while Asia and Europe never spent more than 150 on leisure activities in the time provided, the United States' spending on leisure forms was 184 and 257 in 1995 and 200 respectively. It is worth noticing that Europe's expenditure in 1995 was half as much as that of the United States in the same year.
With regards to the forms of entertainment, publishing and television accounted for the major parts of the resources being spent. Specifically, these two types stood for 50 out of 67 invested in Asia in 1995. Similarly, 101 out of 131 was allocated for publishing and television in Europe in 2000. In contrast, cinema, video and music received minimal interests from the public. As can be seen, these three forms combined only got a fourth of the resources that publishing and television did in the United States in 2000 with 57 and 200 respectively.
