A glance at the chart provided reveals some striking facts about teaching staff gender division in each listed department of a university during the year 2012.
Overall, mostly departments are dominated by male staff, while some departments experienced a majority of female staff.
As is illustrated the graph, there is a vast majority of male staff in Engineering department that account for around just under 90%, while merely 15% female staff was employeed in the department. However, in Education department, female staff is in majority, nearly 75%, men were only around 25%. Further, female staff was in majority in arts too, about 65% compared with male staff account for about 45%. in medicine department, both genders stayed almost equal, while science, law and business departments were also dominated by males, about 65%, 60% and again about 65% respectively.
