The line graph represents the percentage of old age people in Japan, Sweden and the USA for a century from 1940 until 2040.
Overall, it is clear that the number of older population is expected an upward trend meanwhile Japanese aged populace is expected to be on its highest and surpass the other two nations by 2030.
Moving on to the details,in the USA in 1940 there was almost 9% of older citizens which exhibited a steady growth and reached at 15% in 1980. Thereafter followed by a slight decline, it is expected to regain its growth by 2040, which would be around 24%. Similarly, for Sweden, the starting percentage was about 6% that increased slow and steady and is predicted to end at 25% in 2040.
However, in Japan,the rate of retirement age group was the least in the beginning at 5% and it dipped to 4% and remained constant until 1980. Thereafter from 2000, the figure started climbing up and is expected to be skyrocketing after 2020 and by 2040, more than quarter percentage of older people could be from Japan.
