The given bar chart represents the information about the proportion of owner and renter of accommodation in England and Wales from 1918 to 2011.
Overall, there are two general upward and downward trends. While the percentage of residents in rental houses decreased, people who owned there resident climbed.
The rate of renter of accommodation was significantly decreased from 76 percent in 1918 to the lowest point in 2001 at just over 30 percent, following the constant climb. Then, there was slightly increased to nearly 36 percent in 2011.
On the other hand, residents who had their own houses was dramatically jumped from 23 percent in 1918 to 50 percent in 1917, as equal as the rental. After 1971, the rise of owner of accommodation still gradual until 2001 with approximately 69 percent. In the end of this period, the percent of owned accommodation slightly declined to 63 percent, however, it still higher than rented accommodation.
