The given graph compares the quantity of adolescent involvement in three selected sectors of the sport industry over a six-year period, between 2008 and 2014.
As can be seen from the chart, the number of young athletes in all three activities experienced a certain increase, meanwhile, football has been the dominant during the surveyed period.
In terms of teenaged footballers, the proportion of these people witnessed a slight upward tendency. In detail, the data of those who engaged in playing football commenced standing at eight million children and insignificantly decrease in the next two years. Nevertheless, from 2010 to 2014, the chart depicted a moderate improvement in this data, which peaked at 9 million football players in the final year.
Turning to the 2 rest ones namely muscular sports and swimming, with the similar trend, both of them are also shown to go up. Particularly, the number of applications in swimming sport within 2014 nearly doubled that in 2008 and the amount of those who are into playing athletics also rose by 4 million after six years. In 2014, both these areas of sport swap their position which reached approximately five and four million children respectively.
