The line graph below shows the household recycling rates in three different countries between 2005 and 2015

The graph compares the proportion of domestic recycling in UK, France and Germany from 2005 to 2015.

Overall, the recycling rates increased over the ten year period in UK and Germany, whereas they decreased in France. In addition, the British households showed the highest percentage of recycling in 2015, while in 2005 the French households held the biggest recycling rate.

In 2005, the half of the French households recycled products, while the figures for UK and Germany were roughly 35% and 20% respectively. After four years, the recycling rate decreased in France and it increased in the two other countries. In particular, in 2009, one fourth of the British households recycled garbage, while the figure of the German households rose up to almost 35%. However, in France the rate fell to 38% approximately, reaching the plummet of 30% in 2013.

Domestic recycling rates showed an overall increase in 2015 for each country. The rates of UK and Germany improved steadily over the 10-year period, with households recycling 60% and almost 58% of domestic garbage respectively. By contrast, the same year the ratio in France was the lowest one, since only two to five households recycled garbage.
