The line graph illustrates the comparison of the production and consumption of oil in China over the period of 1982 to 2006.
Overall, it is clear that although oil production was more than its consumption in the initial period, the trend became inverse at the end.
In the year 1982, the oil-producing rate was nearly 2 million oil barrels per day whereas its consuming rate was approximately 50-70 lakhs of oil barrels more per day. However, the consumption was stable until the year 1990. On the other hand, production increased rapidly before getting a firm growth until the year 1994.
In the year 1994, the growing phase of both coincided from which the production rate got reduced slowly with nearly 3 millions of oil barrels daily. Simultaneously, oil consumption got tremendous hit and increased by 6.5 million oil barrels per day which were the highest raise over the whole period.
