Considering the regions, europe had a fair amount of degraded land which was followed by oceania and then in north-america.
Globally, over-grazing contributed to 35% while the deforestation accounted for 30% which was closely followed by over-cultivation at 28%. However, other reasons accounted, for a mere 7% of the total.
In 1990, europe had the highest degraded land which was 23% in which deforestation was the major factor while in case of oceania, surprisingly over-cultivation accounted for nothing while over-grazing and deforestation together contributed to make a total of 13%. North-america had the least amount of degraded land with just 5% in which more than fifty-percent of share was from over-cultivation.
