in some countries, owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. Why might this be the case? Do you think this is a positive or negative situation?

The ownership of personal home is very significant to the natives of some countries and is considered better than renting a place to live. Having a place of your own to live provides shelter, regardless of the circumstances. Moreover, owning a property also gives financial security. I believe that there is a great advantage of having a personal residence but it should not become a necessity.
Some nations of the world consider it really important to own a home because it ensures of one of the basic necessities of life, ‘shelter’. It contributes to a stress free life. It results in saving money that could be spent on other necessities like education and health. For example, my brother bought a house and it saved him lot of money that enabled him to afford expensive medical education of his daughter.
Being a tenant is difficult as you have to face issues from the landlords and sometimes problems arise due to financial crisis. You have to pay rent to live under the roof whether you have money or not. Rentals are temporary and a fear of moving is constant. In addition, it saves the money to be spent as rents. For example, we were living in a rented apartment for most of our lives and had to spend a considerable section of our earnings on rents that could have otherwise been spent on improving our life standard.
The comfort of knowing that you have an independent living place relieves you of a quiet significant mental burden and boosts your confidence. This improves overall social status and life performance. However, this should not be made a liability, because it is a luxury that not everyone can afford.
