The table and chart shows data from a survey of library users.

The bar chart depicts the reasons why people go to libraries and the table gives information on the opinions that people of different age groups provided in 2012.

Overall, the intention of coming to libraries for research was of the highest prevalence among three age groups, whereas the least number of library-goers used this type of public facility for borrowing newspapers. In addition, the consideration of the importance of library increase as people are aging.

As per the chart, regarding reading for researching purposes, there was a noticeable mere 10% gap in the number of teenagers and other age group counterparts as the former crossing the halfway mark whereas the latter was just somewhere in the vicinity of 40%. The trend is similar for borrowing books as the proportion of teenagers to young adults was approximately three-fifths. However, those aged around 17 didn't borrow newspapers from the library as many as those older.

In addition, according to the table, the age group of 16-17 had the highest frequency of going to libraries but took these public commodities into account the least, with 72% and 54%, respectively. Noticeably, only nearly 20% of adults got help from librarians as opposed to 43% seen in the group of younger counterparts.
