The table reveals the proportions of expenditure spent on different categories in five European nations in 2002. Overall, it is obvious that the consumption of Food/Drinks/Tobacco sector was always the largest, while that of leisure and education was the minimum among all the five countries.

For Turkey and Ireland, their costs on intake stuff ranked number one and two compared with other countries, with 32.14% and 28.91% respectively. Additionally, they also shared similar percentages of wearing things with Turkey accounting 6.63% and Ireland taking up 6.43%. By contrast, the spending on leisure and education in Turkey (4.35%) was almost twice as that in Ireland (2.21%).

As to the rest countries, the greatest proportion of clothing and footwear was in Italy, representing 9.00% of its whole consumer expenditure, and the figures in Spain (6.51%) and Sweden (5.40%) were relatively significant. For the expenditure on leisure and education sector, Italy and Sweden reported similarities: 3.20% and 3.22% separately, while Spain represented the smallest percentage (1.98%). At last, Not mentioned are the consumptions of food, drinks and tobacco in the three countries: 18.80% in Spain, 16.36% in Italy and 15.77% in Sweden.
