The table delivers information about forest areas in different global regions, measured in millions of hectares, in three given years.

Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that Europe had the most forested land while this fugures of Oceania was the least in size throughout the period. In addition, Africa and South America experienced a downward trend in lands used for growing trees whereas other continents witnessed either a fluctuation or an increase.

In 1990, Europe held the largest forested space of 989 millions ha and this number rose to 1001 millions ha 15 years afterwards. In the same year, Oceania only possessed about one fifth of Europe's trees land and had a small dip of 1 million ha in both 2000 and 2005.

Interestingly, Africa underwent a dramatic decrease which added up to 49 millions ha. South America experienced the same trend as Africa. Furthermore, Asia's forest area was fluctuated until stood at 584 millions ha in 2005. North America also dropped about 3 millions ha in three given years.
