The table illustrates the proportion of journeys depending on types of transport in four different countries. The bar chart answers the question why cars are so popular in the USA.

In terms of journeys made by car, the USA has the biggest figure 90%. Car use in the UK and France is not so big as in the USA and is around just below 70%. Almost a half people prefer cars to another types of transport in the Netherlands. It is notably notable that in comparison with other country countries, the Netherlands have has the highest rates of cycling 26%.The greatest popularity of public transport is observed in France 18% . People in the Netherlands also like going on foot more than in other countries.

A glance at the bar chart reveals that it is not clear why cars in the USA are so popular. But second most popular reason is that American people prefer to commute by car.

Overall, the most popular type of transport in all countries is car, especially in the USA. The most probable reason of it is that people use car to go to work.
