The two given pie charts describe the major energy resources in the America detected in the 1980s and one decade later. Overall, the general trend of power consumption did not change, and Oil remained the most demanded source.
In the initial period of the observation Oil possessed 42% of energy market, whereas Natural gas acquired a bit more than quarter. Coal was located slightly behind with 22% of American consumption. Demand for Hydroelectric as well as Nuclear Power was distributed evenly and each position received 5% of the total number of customers.
Ten years later need for Oil declined to 33%, yet this kind of fuel was leading the list of energy sources in the USA. Volume of Natural gas changed insignificantly remaining the quarter of power market while demand for Coal increased by 5% equaling 27% in the 1990s. Finally, Hydroelectric and Nuclear power gained 5% and 10% respectively. Nuclear power showed the most dramatic growth among all energy resources by doubling its part over following decade.
