Essay topics:

The two maps below show an island, before and after the construction of some tourist facilities. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The two maps outline how a small island has been changed to provide better experiences for tourists. While the first map shows a bare area with no developments, the second one illustrates various developments which have been made on both land and sea.

Overall, the "before" island literally has nothing on it, featuring only a few treas in the West and about three times of that in the East. To the furthest West of the island, there is also a beach but it seems to be undeveloped with no signs of use.

In sharp contrast to the first map, the "after" one displays that significant improvements have been made, including a pier to the South, making it easier to access the islands by boats. Following this pier is a vehicle track leading to a great building named reception in the centre. From this point, tourists can easily get to accommodation facilities on both the East and West sides of the island, as a complete footpath system has been specially built for this purpose. The restaurant is to the North of the island, and visitors can get here by vehicles from the reception building. Additionally, the beach has finally been made safe for tourists, as there is a swimming area indicating that people now can visit this place.
