The layout regarding the Pentland which is a small coastal town observed an alternation between 1950 and 2007 is illustrated by the given development chart.

On having an overall, it is apparent that, the town undergone some radical changes. The principle changes is that, Pentland was facilitated with numbers of developments and become a commercial area.

Upon analysing the presentation, in case of structure of coastal in 1950, it is cleared that the town was divided in four parts with the help of roads. The town had an industrial area which was in the west direction; contrastingly, the car park in the east side also witnessed by the town. In addition the main part of the town was sea that was in the north side while the rest of area was covered by the grassland.

After more than half century, the Pentland was well-developed but the partion of the town was similar to previous years. The industrial area was replaced by a swimming pool, a small park alongwith multi storey car park. There were many shops on the corner of the roads and facilitated by yacht marina instead of sea. Moreover, the north-east corner was filled with appartments, however the east-south include houses. For the enjoyment of peole the facility of cinemas were available in the west-south direction.
