Comparable trend took place with Africa's production of oil, as it grew with volatility by around 35 million barrels/day, jumping from 15 million barrels/day in 1960 to 40 million barrels/day by the end of the period. The trend was similar for oil production in Asia, which rose steadily from just under 5 million barrels/day to just over 30 million barrels/day as the period ended. In spite of starting at the same amount of oil of Asia in 1960, North America oil production climbed gradually by 10 million barrels/day in every 10 years and finally achieved approximately 20 million barrels/day by the end of the period, which was 10 million barrels lower than that of Asia.
