Dear sir,

I am writing about the decision of building a shopping mall in the center of the town.

The planning of opening a shopping mall in our town by the planning department considered as a threat for all the local shopkeepers living in the center of town. On behalf of everyone, I want to discuss the reasons for why we object towards establishing a mall in our area.

The issues behind that are a major concern over small retailers who have only one option to earn their living through selling a few items at retail prices. If the shopping mall opens in this area, all the customers go on the departmental store to purchase which make a huge loss for retailers. Secondly, the construction in the city area creates a lot of pollution and affect the health of people. Another parking in the nearest places around the shopping mall is not possible because of the narrow roads. Additionally, the disturbance happens by the people at night effect over the sleeping habits, specifically for students and children's. The discounts and offers provided in the malls attract a number of customers and by this, the price differences made a biased competition among all the local shopkeepers.

For this, the better alternative for the planning to build a mall is to shift on the other place. You can also make changes over the map of construction like give more space in the parking area, acquiring shopkeepers and provide them sufficient space for selling their products. Furthermore, the closing time of the mall should be mentioned strictly and shut down before sleeping hours.

I hope you think about the issues and about the solutions, I added here, and take sufficient actions for the society.

Thank you

Yours Sincerely

Mishika Sugandhi
