The first table illustrates a survey about the statistic of sale of coffee between the UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, and Sweden in the years 1999 and 2004, while the second table shows an investigation about banana selling.

Overall, those European countries imported more coffee in 2004 than they did in 1999, as was the case in consuming bananas except Sweden.

In the survey, Switzerland spent nearly 3ME on coffee, so it was clearly the maximum consumption on import those, and then this figure increased dramatically by triple in the 2004. However, although the UK spent only half of money of Switzerland on coffee in 1999, this number grew sharply to 20ME by the end of 2004, coming the first place. In addition, the rest countries kept the relatively low level on importing coffee in 1999, despite such countries as Denmark, Belgium, and Sweden experienced a brief increase in 2004.

Switzerland spent more their budget(about 15ME) on bananas than other countries in 1999, as was the case, spending 47ME, in the year 2004. Additionally, the UK spent their money on bananas increasing from 1ME in 1999 to 5.5 in 2004, while Belgium also experienced a growth on consumption from 0.6 to 4 during the whole period of the survey. By contrast, Sweden and Denmark decreased their expense on banana respectively.
