Essay topics:

You work for an international company, and would like to spend six months working in its head office in another country.

Write a letter to your manager. In your letter:
explain why you want to work in the company’s head office for six months
say how your work could be done while you are away
ask for his/her help in arranging it.

Dear Mr. John,

I am writing to express my interest in working at our head branch in Germany for 6 months.

I am the human resource manager and there are more than two hundred German employees. Due to language barrier, it becomes difficult to handle all their needs. This some times cause dissatisfaction and they become unhappy. Although I have done a basic course in German language, I am still lacking complete control over it. If given an opportunity to work in Germany, this first-hand experience will not only help me to brush on my language skills but also I can learn about their culture. On my return, I can use all the knowledge that I learned during my six-month tenure and successfully implement here, which will assist in satisfying our German staff.

Moreover, in my absence, Ms. Jane will be looking after my work. I have trained her to carry out all duties without any difficulty. Also, I will be available online, so in case of any help, I can be easily reached.

I would like you accept my application and put a word of reference to the head office, so they are more likely to approve my request.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Yours faithfully,
Bina
