Dear Sir,
I’m writing to you because I’m interested in becoming the chef cook at your new Sichuan restaurant.

We met on a plane from Shanghai to Vancouver last week; I was sitting next to you. We had a pleasant talk on about Chinese food — especially Sichuan cuisine — and I was deeply impressed by your knowledge of it. As luck would have it, you told me that you were opening a Chinese restaurant of Sichuan cuisine in Vancouver. After knowing that I have been a cook of Sichuan cuisine for 6 years, you offered to further discuss the possibilities of me being the chef cook of your Sichuan restaurant.

I would love to become the chef cook of your Sichuan restaurant and I believe I’m the right person for this position. I was born and raised in Sichuan; I grew up eating Sichuan food. My interest in cooking began when I was a teenager. After high school, I studied Sichuan cuisine in Sichuan Culinary School and graduated with first-class honors when I was 21. I have been a Sichuan cuisine cook since graduation and currently, I’m the chef cook of a famous Sichuan restaurant in Shanghai. I am young and energetic, and I speak fluent English, which would help a lot for a living and be working in Canada. My resume is attached to the email; please have a look if you are interested.

I believe your new restaurant is going to be a success because of your vision for Chinese restaurants in Vancouver, as well as your interest and knowledge in Sichuan cuisine. That is why I have chosen to be part of your team.

Thank you for taking your time to read my message. I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,
Terry Pang
