Thank him/her for the invitation.

Explain why you cannot come

Ask him about other times to visit.

Dear Mangi,

I am writing to thank you for your invitation. It’s very kind of you But unfortunately I won’t be able to make it due to my hectic work schedule. I hope you understand my situation.

Let me explain my situation in more detail. I’ve recently started a new job teaching English and I’ve been working around the clock. I don’t mean to complaini, I’ve been enjoying it immensely. The school I’m working at is my old school. It’s quite interesting teaching with people who used to be my teachers.

Could you let me know the another time you will be free? I would love to come to stay. I’m interested in seeing you new house and family. I’’be free in the new year and public holidays because of school holidays. I’ll also be fine in in winter a .

I’d certainly love to escape the cold to visit you then.

Please let me know.

Yours friend,

Divys
