IELTS General Training - Writing Task 1Work is being done on the street where you live. The noise is disturbing you. Write a letter of complaint to your local council. In your letter, A)Introduce yourself,B)Explain what the problem is,C)Suggest solutions

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter to complain to you about the current construction project in Dutugmunu Street, which carry out the entire day, and make a loud noise. I have been living in this area for a long time, and this is the first time I experience such a disturb.

The constructions work last for 24 hours, and a lot of vehicles go here and there making unnecessary noises. I do not understand why they always sound the horns and disturb the residence. Moreover, the machines use to dig the road generate a different kind of noise, and they do it at night as well. I have a small child who could not sleep with these disturbs. When the child awake, the entire family has to sacrifice their sleeping time. Less sleeping hours make stress on the head and that effect to productivity at office work. This is not a specific issue for me.

I hope this project under the local authority, and you have the power to control the construction company. Please attend to avoid the construction work after 9.00 PM, and advice them to sound the horns when it is really necessary. If you could not resolve this problem, we will escalate this to the next level, and complain to the police as well.

I hope you will take immediate action to solve this problem and look forward to hearing positive feedback with a proper solution.

Yours Faithfully
V.K
