Dear Sir,
I am writing to you to draw your attention to the problem faced by us in Alipore ward. Since last two weeks, door to door garbage collection system has not been done properly and timely as well. As a result, the rubbish bin that is kept the end of our ward is getting filled in no time, and fowl smells are keep on coming until the evening, when the garbage collection van arrives.
This has created lot many issues in our locality such as intensity of mosquitoes have increased, which was nil earlier. In addition, several people have avoided that road due to bad smell, which in turn creating traffic congestion in the other roads.
On discussing this issue with one of the garbage collector, we have come to know that they are unable to pick garbage on time due to excessive heat in this summer. Moreover, entire process of collection is manual, which make them fatigue in a short time. Our suggestion would be to replace all rubbish collection van with battery operated van as a result, they will able to cover more area compare to earlier, and fatigue will not be an issue any more because of battery operated collection van. Moreover, it is Eco-friendly.
