Dear Mr Philip,
I am writing this letter to apologise for missing the Department Manager monthly meet held today at Bradford store. I am really disheartened to miss out the presentation of my sales team,while being major agenda of the meeting.
Due to non-availability of my wife, I had to drop my children to school, which is a 15 minute car drive from my home. Unfortunately, due to recent major Bus accident, traffic administration diverted the traffic through single lane Oxford street, thus resulting in jam packed road in peak hours. Therefore despite a lot of efforts, I arrived 2 hours late at office, consequently missing the meeting time deadline.
I am really sorry to show lack of punctuality on this precious moment and assure you that it would never be repeated in the future. However, I have asked George to forward me minutes of meeting, so that I can check on my scope of work. I would request you to kindly assist me on my queries with next course of actions to be undertaken after the meeting.
I hope you will forgive me on reasonable grounds and be assured of my commitment to the company in future.
