You have heard about plans to build new apartments in a public park near your home. You want to give your opinion about this.
Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. In your letter
 Explain how you learnt about these plans
 Say what you think of the park
 Give our opinion on the plans

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am Harry Martin, retired Army Officer living in Warwick colony. This morning, I read in your newspaper about the plans of replacing public park in our colony with new apartments. I am writing this letter to express my opinion about the same.

This park is one of the valuable asset of our society. It is the only park within the twenty miles therefore, it is the recreation place not only for local people but also for many others neighboring colonies. It has become the best-loved place for people of all age group. While children love to play with their friends and enjoy slides, see saws and other swings. Elderly people spent many hours reading newspaper and chatting with their friends seating beneath the shady trees or on the wooden benches. In short this park is a boon for localites.

As like many other people of our society, I believe that this plan of replacement would not be rational. People are more in need of public parks than apartments as there are plenty of other societies and apartments which are vacant from last many years.

I hope, through the power of your pen, you will bring our issues to the concerned authorities and they may reconsider this plan of constructing new apartments in place of park.

Your sincerely
Harry Martin
