Write a letter to an English-speaking friend. In your letter

• explain why you changed jobs

• describe your new job

• tell him/her your other news

Dear Nazlı,

I hope you and your family are fine. I am sorry I haven’t written for three months. I have been so busy over these quarter. I am writing to let you know that I have resigned from my previous company and took a new job recently.

As you know, I was responsible to measure credit risk of XY Bank whose market share is very small in banking sector. I had been stuck in the same position for a long and was not getting many chances to further my career. In addition, my office was shifted from European side to Anatolian side in İstanbul. It took approximately 2 hours to go to the office from my home whose location is at European side.

These reasons were forced to me to change my job and I find my new responsibilities in AB Bank which is the largest bank in Turkey. I am working to measure not only credit risk but also operational and market risk. Thus, I have more business opportunities thanks to focusing on more issues.

In other respects, my new company provided me a nice payment. The new office is so closed to my home. I will never need to catch the traffic jam. It has better office environment and friendly environment.

By the way, I am going to organize party to celebrate new job on this Saturday at my home. It would be great if you have time to join in.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Warm wishes,

Başak
