Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing in relation to an advertisement your paper recently published asking for local volunteers to provide environmental assistance.
I would like to raise your awareness of an environmental issue that has been plaguing my local area. I live near Brighton beach which in the last year has become a very popular spot with tourists and visitors. The beach used to be pristine and isolated; however, due to its growing popularity, it has become quite polluted with rubbish. Also, people have begun camping on the beach and this has resulted in an increase of rubbish being left behind.
To help clean up the beach after visitors, I would be more than happy to arrange a group of local volunteers for a beach-cleaning event. We would pick up rubbish and also install rubbish bins at regular intervals along the beach.
To help save the integrity of our beach and avoid further pollution, I suggest that the council makes this a camp-free zone.
