Dear Peter,

I’m just writing to say thank you for the invite to your spectacular wedding last weekend. it truly was an amazing day out and one that I won’t ever forget. The setting by the sea was breath taking but I really have to apologize for arriving a bit late.

As you are aware, I recently got my BMW’s engine fixed. However, I had engine problems again on the morning of your wedding. I tried everything to get the motor running but in the end I had to give up and call a taxi. then the driver get a little lost on the way, so in the end I was maybe 5 minutes late and missed the starting of the wedding.

I know it was such a big day for you and I felt so ashamed to not to be there from the start. so since I missed the start of the ceremony, I would love to make it up to you. I have tickets to see a Broadway show next Friday. How about it? my shout! Please let me know by Thursday if you can join me and I’ll hold the tickets until then.

Best wishes, Jeff
