Essay topics:

You work in an office and have recently been experiencing a health problem. You think that the problem started because of the working conditions in the office. Write a letter to your manager.

In your letter:

describe the health problem
explain why you think it was caused by conditions in the office
suggest what the manager should do to improve the working conditions in the office

Dear Mr James,

I am writing to inform you about the health issue, which I am currently facing because of the present working conditions at the workplace, and I would like to suggest ideas to improve this situation.

With regard to the health problem, I have been suffering from severe back pain for the last two weeks, which I neglected earlier and took pain killers to reduce the pain. Now the pain is too severe that I consulted a physiotherapist yesterday, and he described it as the case of unwanted strain on the upper and lower back.

As for the reason why it was caused by the work environment, I can only assume it was the result of the newly allocated office chair, not only is which less comfortable, but also inflexible. It is also my opinion that my back might have been affected because of the bad sitting posture, as caused by that chair.

Because the office sitting arrangement has health-related concerns, may I suggest you contact the facility team to review the chair design, and recommend that they should consider replacing the current one with the new ergonomic chair, which is specifically designed for office employees, and ensure that they work comfortably for long hours.

I sincerely hope that my suggestion would be helpful to improve the working conditions in the office.

Yours sincerely,
Mandeep
