Many museums and historical sites are mainly visited by tourists but not local people. Why is this the case and what can be done to attract more local people to visit these places?

While many museums and historical sites really attract tourists, they seem to be not attractive to local inhabitants. This situation happens due to some reasons, and effective solutions should be proposed to encourage local people to visit these places.
There are several reasons why many local people are not keen on visiting local museums and historical sites. First, because the locals are already familiar with the destinations, they are less likely to visit the places where they have known what they expect to see. Instead, they are more inclined to travel to other tourist attractions where they could obtain an enormous information about the brand new places beyond their areas. Second, because of the high cost of entrance and services that is more suitable for tourists, local people might not be willing to spend their savings on going to these places.
Several actions should be taken to increase the number of local people visiting local destination. The first solution would be for the authorities to hold specific events closely related to these destinations, which motivate more local people to visit and participate in such events. Additionally, the total cost of visiting these places for the locals should be reduced so that it is affordable for the majority of people. This can be done by offering a 50% discount on entrance fee for people living nearby the places. As a result, many local people choose to visit local destinations since they could save their money in comparison to traveling to other tourist places.
In conclusion, few local people visiting museums and historical sites are caused by several factors, and solutions should be produced to attract more local inhabitants going to these places.
