In the past lecturers could teach a certain number of students in one lecture hall. With the development of new technology, it’s hard to justify the reason to participate in the lecture physically and not via the Internet. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? What is your personal opinion?
Technology has been flourishing by leaps and bounds, and has provided us new avenues in various fields including education. In recent years, it has been seen that the traditional form of classroom education is transitioning towards online education very swiftly. Nowadays, some people consider classroom education absurd and prefer online education to be more effective. I completely disagree with this opinion and in my below essay I will illustrate this with examples.
Firstly, classrooms are considered as second home for children. Students, especially the younger ones tend to be more active while in classrooms as they are often involved in group activities. For example, completing a craft assignment, through which they share their ideas and explore themselves. Furthermore, they imbibe moral values such as caring and sharing from their teachers and class-friends. They learn to empathize with others and this in turn prepare them for a better future. However, if these students are taught through internet, they may become isolated and may fail to acquire these important social and moral skills.
Secondly, it is not just the younger students who get benefited by classroom-education. The elder students, who are preparing themselves to enter the job world, also get profited by this sort of education. To illustrate, students pursuing tertiary education, require assistance from professors and fellow students to select a course which can be useful for their career growth. Though, these information can easily be accessed through the internet, but the hardships which would be faced in accomplishing these targets can be better explained by a person who has sailed the same boat and definitely not by a machine.
In conclusion, I concur that physical classroom education is a key for the growth of school children as they enhance their motor skills, and social and moral values. Similarly, University students also get a chance to discover better opportunities as they are in continuous touch with the people of same area of interest.
