Some would argue that television is helpful for educational purpose, while others believe that the sole purpose of television is enjoyment. This essay will argue that although it is used for amusement after a busy day, I believe that television is a multipurpose device, one can get learning benefits from a plethora of informative programs.
It is argued that the entertainment programs on the television such as comedy or sports give some relief after a tedious day spent on a job or at school. P<span class="hiddenGrammarError" pre="programs "></span>roduction companies designed these programs to entertain their viewers because, in a fast-paced world, people are unable to plan activities which can refresh them. For instance, Daily times in the United Kingdom published that in a survey most of the people mention that after a hectic day they usually watch television to divert their minds instead of going out with friends or family. However, I believe that the ultimate purpose of television should not be confined to enjoyment, in fact, it must be used to broaden our horizon.
On the other hand, many informative programs like news, documentaries, and current affair discussions on-air on TV on a daily basis. These programs give latest and up-to-date information about the recent activities happening across the globe. In other words, these are really helpful for study purpose because it is one of the most authentic sources of information on which an individual can rely. For illustration, the institutes for civil superior services recommend their students to watch news channels for at least 2-3 hours daily in order to pass the exams. I believe that there is a load of information for the ones who intend to increase their knowledge.
