Air purifiers are being used to protect our health from air pollution. Many different types of air purifiers have been invented for better effects. Here are some of the most widely used air purifiers.

HEPA filters are effective at removing allergens such as dust or pollens without producing secondary pollution. The folded fiber sheets of the HEPA filters trap toxic substances when the absorbed particles come into contact with the fiber. Once any large enough particle is absorbed, the filter will produce cleaner air in an eco-friendly way.

Ozone-generating air purifiers remove unpleasant smells and airborne chemicals. This can be done with the help of ozone, which creates a special reaction when it comes in contact with hazardous substances. Also, ozone has a pleasant smell like air fresheners. These two features of ozone-generating filters appeal to many customers.

UV air purifiers directly react with the air and remove harmful bacteria in it. It is especially useful when removing harmful microscopic particles in the atmosphere. This results in a better environment to live in with cleaner air to breathe. Moreover, UV air filters operate so quietly that it is hard to hear them working.

The passage suggest the different types of purifiers used to protect our health from air pollution. Three different types of purifiers are mentioned in the passage with their use. But, the lecturer opposes these points by providing specific evidences.
Firstly, in the passage it is mentioned that HEPA filters can remove dust, pollens and also the filters in them can catch the large particles. But, the lecturer points out that the HEPA filters cannot get rid of small particles like allergents, viruses, bacterias whose size is less than 0.3 micrometer which have an adverse effect on our life. This small particles have tendency to grow and multiply which in-turn damages the quality of air.
Second type of purifiers are ozone-generating purifiers. In the passage, it is mentioned that ozone has a tendency to react with toxic substances. But the lecturer opposes it by saying that large proportion of ozone could be harmful to eyes, lung and skin. It can cause adverse effect to life though its only advantage is its pleasant smell.
The third type of purifiers is UV purifiers which removes harmful bacteria in it. But, the lecturer states that the UV purifier cannot remove hazardous gases, cigarette smoke and harmful fumes. This can be very dangerous as this gases have a high toxic particles which is not good for a cleaner air.
In conclusion, the passage suggest three different type of air purifiers with there merits. The lecturer opposes the facts mentioned in the passsage by providing evidences.
