The lecture has explained the shortcomings of the filters for which they are not effective enough to perform their tasks in cleaning the air and environment and mentioned they may bring detrimental effects in some cases. The reasons illustrated in the lecture for these shortcomings are given below.
Firstly, The air contains both larger and smaller particles. Although larger particles can be trapped within HEPA filter, the particles such as allergeon and viruses whose size is below 0.3 micr-meter can not be captured by HEPA filter. Besides, they can grow and regenerate within the HEPA filter and capable of being emitted in the air. Mentioning these facts, the lecture refutes the passage about what is stated on the effectiveness on HEPA filter.
Secondly, The lecture points out that ozone filter can be very dangerous as it's reaction to remove the chemicals responsible to odor smells could emits deleterious gassess to the air which may react with the eye and body parts. As a result these particle can generate different kinds of diseasses on the these human parts. The airfreshner gasses that this filter emits are consists of gasoline which can do harm to human body.
Finally, the UV filters are less effective as mentions in the lecture. This filter can not suck the cigarates somke and other chemical gassess effective from the air.
