He or She believes climatic conditions for its growth are changing hence scientists are attempting to create a new type of broccoli to grow in the new conditions.

Some vegetables lose their nutrients and vitamins shortly after harvest. So when broccoli is grown locally, people can eat it's after cutting.

The speaker believes that East Coast broccoli may not successful or beneficial for customers hence scientists try to create a new type of broccoli to survive more in hot summer. he mentions the broccoli has a lower yield on West Coast.
