The cane toad is a large (1.8 kg) amphibian species native to Central and South America. It was deliberately introduced to Australia in 1935 with the expectation that it would protect farmers' crops by eating harmful insects. Unfortunately, the toad

The article states that the cane toad is a species that deliberately brought to Australia in 1935 and because of its destructive effects, several measures have been proposed to stop the spread of it in Australia. However, the professor explains that the can toad won't be easy to get rid of as the reading suggests and refutes each of the measures.

First, the reading claims that building a national fence is the effective way to prevent the spread of the toad and mention that it will prevent toads to moving into parts of Australia that they have not yet colonized. The author mention that this approach has been used before and it's going to work now. The professor refutes this point by stating that it worked by rabbits but it is not working now. She mentions that young toads and toad's eggs are in the rivers and rivers carry and move the young toads and eggs to the other side of the fences and they establish another colony there.

Second, the article states that toads could be captured and destroyed by volunteers. However, the professor contends that it needs massive groups of people and of course they don't understand the difference between the cane toad and the king toad and so they hurt the population of the king toads.

Third, the reading avers that researchers can develop a virus to control the cane toad populations. The lecture opposes this point by saying that it is a terrible idea and argues that it will kill the king toad and reptiles and as a result, it creates a disaster and the whole area will be suffered.
